A woman died after being dragged from a plane crash into a watery grave near Australia’s north coast.
A small plane crashed Friday into a pond about 20 kilometres (12 miles) southeast of the town of Woomera in Western Australia, a state government spokesman said.
No one was injured in the crash.
It happened about 3 p.m. local time (8 p.s.m., 1130 GMT), a spokeswoman for the state government’s environmental monitoring agency said.
A woman was standing next to the wreckage of the plane when it hit the water.
She was pulled from the wreckage and taken to a hospital, she said.
The plane was flying from Woomerang Airport to Canberra, the spokeswoman said.
There are no signs of injuries, and no debris from the crash was found, she added.
